New dates for Dray Prescot books

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Due to circumstances beyond my control (I love that phrase — it says everything without saying anything) we have had to adjust the publication dates a little for the remaining Dray Prescot books. I am sorry for any disappointment this will cause. Scorpio Drums will still be published on 7 April, but the rest have had to be moved back about a month. Titles by other Mushroom eBooks authors are not affected.

The new dates are:

  • Scorpio Triumph (DP43) - 19 May 2008
  • Intrigue of Antares (DP44) - 2 June 2008
  • Gangs of Antares (DP45) - 16 June 2008
  • Demons of Antares (DP46) - 30 June 2008
  • Scourge of Antares (DP47) - 14 July 2008
  • Challenge of Antares (DP48) - 28 July 2008
  • Wrath of Antares (DP49) - 18 August 2008
  • Shadows Over Kregen (DP50) - 8 September 2008
  • Murder on Kregen (DP51) - 29 September 2008
  • Turmoil on Kregen (DP52) - 20 October 2008

How to Research Historical Fiction

Friday, March 14th, 2008

Suzanne Francis, author of “The Song of the Arkafina” series, has written a very helpful article called “Yesterday Once More—How to Research Historical Fiction“. The title says it all, so I won’t try to summarize it. You can find the article, along with a few other useful essays, at The Long and the Short of It.

akersscorpioablaze_thumb.gifVolume forty-one in the saga of Dray Prescot of Earth and of Kregen, by Kenneth Bulmer, writing as Alan Burt Akers, is now available (or soon will be) from all good online bookstores, including Fictionwise, eBooks.com, Cyberread and Mobipocket. Scorpio Ablaze is the fourth book of the Lohvian Cycle, and the last book that was ever published in English. Scorpio Drums is out in a couple of weeks!

The blurb…

Under the twin sun, Antares, the planet Kregen is a world of wonder and terror, of beauty and horror. Now, in the streaming mingled lights of the Suns of Scorpio, Prescot takes up the Krozair brand to save his friends who are about to be killed by the vicious Shank lord. Then he must rally the coalition of forces from Vallia, Hamel and Tsungfaril, to expel the Shanks from Tarankar. But things rarely go according to plan on Kregen…
